It will rear the tendril back and quickly stab forward, which you’ll need to deflect at the last minute. Aoye can also use its tendrils to perform regular sweeps in a semi-circle in front of itself, staggering you if you don’t evade or deflect it.Īnother particularly devastating Critical Blow attack is a lunge with its left tendril. If you’re behind Aoye, like many other bosses, it can perform a 180-degree sweep attack to turn around to face you, dealing damage in the process if you get caught by it. This is meant to act as a deterrent for you being too close, but this flurry of tendrils can in fact be deflected entirely if you essentially spam the deflect button.

If you are to either side of Aoye, it will pause for a moment and then ferociously whip its tendrils around on both sides of its body. This will likely require an attempt or two to perform successfully. There is a split second after it lowers its head before it charges, so prepare for a deflection at this point, and execute it just as it charges. It has a Critical Blow attack where it can block you into a narrow runway, where it then lowers its head and prepares for a charge forward.
